![]() Most creative tools are complex and require a good amount of time to become proficient with them. If the Fedora package is preinstalled in a gamedev spin, that's nice to have, but I'm not sure there would be a lot of demand for such a spin besides the cross-promotion opportunity of a full FOSS pipeline. ![]() No install is needed and users can get started right away. As a user I don't want to have to install a whole dedicated distro on a new partition when I can readily get the exact same tools set up on my current OS (and especially on my current Linux distro) in a matter of minutes.įor Godot for example, the upstream distribution is a portable, standalone binary which takes a few seconds to download. Personally, I've never really seen the appeal of task focused spins when all the tools are readily available to download from repositories.
